Darrell D. Luce, of Las Vegas, passed away Monday, March 22, 2010.
He was born in Fort Worth, Texas, and was a resident of Las Vegas for over 77 years, making him our family's beloved Las Vegas historian. His life was filled with love, kindness and generosity exemplified in his love for God as an active member and officer in the Christian Science Church; in his love for and devotion to his family as a husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather; in his selfless giving to those less fortunate; and to all animals. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He owned a successful appliance business, Luce and Goodfellow, for decades. He was a past-president of the Las Vegas Rotary Club, loved playing tennis and traveling with his wife to over 50 countries.
Darrell will be missed and forever loved by his surviving family members, his sister, Jean Luce Vitter of Florida; daughters, Rebecca Klenke and Suzanne Luce of California; grandchildren, Ben Klenke and Emily Lucas; granddaughter-in-law, Keely Klenke; great-grandchildren, Kevin, Conner and Cameron Klenke and Kaitlyn and Kaden Lucas.
Services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First Church of Christ Scientist, 300 S. 7th St., Las Vegas, NV 89101.
