Luce Services Saturday

Mary Ellen Luce, 48, of Route 3, in El Dorado, died Wednesday afternoon at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hosiptal. Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Carlson's Colonial Chapel. Burial will follow in the Pontiac cemetery.

She was born Nov. 24, 1936 at Nardin, Okla., the daughter of John and Ruth Broetz McGrew. She had lived in El Dorado since 1969, moving here from Blackwell, Okla., where she had lived since 1941. She graduated from Blackwell High School in 1955 and St. Francis School of Nursing in 1958. She had worked as a registered nurse in the St. Francis Hospital and the dermatolagy clinic in Wichita. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Blackwell, Okla.

Survivors include a son, John Glenn Luce, of the home; a dauther, Teri Lynn Luce of the home; a sister, Mrs. James (Lela) Patton of Medford, Okla.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one sister.

Luce Services Set

Services for Mary Ellen Luce, 48, of El Dorado, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Carlson Funeral Home. Burial will follow the services in Sunset Lawns Cemetery. She died Wednesday at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness.

She was born Nov. 24, 1936 in Kay County, Oklahoma, the daughter of John and Ruth Broetz McGrew. The family moved to Blackwell, Okla. in 1941, and she graduated from Blackwell High School in 1955.

She attended St. Francis School of nursing in Wichita, graduating from there in 1958. She moved to El Dorado in 1969, after her marriage to James L. Luce.

She was a registered nurse, and had worked at St. Francis Hospital and also the Dermatology Clinic in Wichita. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Blackwell, Okla.

Survivors include a son, John Glenn Luce, and a daughter, Teri Lyn Luce, both at home; a step-son, Ricky J. Luce of El Dorado; a stepdaughter, JuReen Suzanne Dickinson of Salina; one sister, Mrs. James (Lela) Patton of Medford, Okla.; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one sister.

Mary Ellen Luce

Services for Mary Ellen Luce, 48, of El Dorado, were held Saturday morning at Carlsons Colonial Chapel. Burial followed the services in Sunset Lawns Cemetery. She died Wednesday, Sept. 4.

The Rev. Randy Gauger, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiated at the services. Mrs. Jean Plummer, at the organ, played selected music for the prelude and the postlude. Rev. Jim Spon sang "One Day At A time" and "Sometime We'll Understand".

Casket bearers were Todd Luce, Phillip Luce, Rick Luce, Jim Patton, Jerry McGrew and Allan McGrew.
