Leland Lucas, 68, of Siloam Springs, Arkansas, died March 14, 2010, at Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital. Born December 28, 1941 in Woodward, Oklahoma, he was the son of Harry Wayne Lucas and Myrle Irene Secreist Lucas. He lived most of his life in Northwest Arkansas. Leland was a farmer and construction worker. He married Wanda Gibson in Miami, Oklahoma, on May 4, 1983.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Leroy Lucas.
Survivors include his wife of the home; and three special children, Harry E. Gibson and wife Anita of Colcord, Oklahoma, Don Gibson of Columbia, Missouri, and Juanita Melton and husband David of Herculaneum, Missouri; five brothers, Myron Lucas of Jay, Oklahoma, Wayne Lucas and wife Nell of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Charlie Lucas and wife Anita of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Ray Lucas and wife Sue of Phoenix, Arizona, and Jim Lucas and wife Jan of Boise, Idaho; four sisters, Margaret Gordon of Cypress City, Texas, Thelma Norsthworthy and husband A.T. of Roundrock, Texas, Rea Mae Grisham and husband Don of Renton, Washington, and Faye Sheppard and husband Roger of Siloam Springs, Arkansas; numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are Bill Richhart, Jesse Drabenstott, Joe Garland, Mark Bunn, Paul Stambaugh, and Paul Durman. Honorary pallbearers are Chris Gibson and Dwayne O'Leary.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 18, 2010, at Wasson Memorial Chapel, Siloam Springs, Arkansas, with Pastor Rob Williams and Mr. Harry E. Gibson officiating. Burial will follow at Bell Cemetery, Watts,
