Longtime Columbus resident Doris Mae Lucas, 87, of Mooresville, died at 1:10 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 22, 20013, at Meadow Lakes Senior Community in Mooresville.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with Jerry Lucas, Gregory Lucas and Cynthia Keever officiating. Calling will be from 10 a.m. until service time Wednesday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.
Born in Edinburgh Sept. 21, 1926, Mrs. Lucas was the daughter of Arthur Brannan and Jeanette Hedger Brannan. She married Sherman C. Lucas Jr. Nov. 16, 1944.
Survivors include her husband; sons, Jerry Michial (Mary) Lucas of Mooresville, IN, and Gregory C. (Elaine) Lucas of Indianapolis, IN; a daughter, Cynthia L. (Matthew) Keever of Sheridan, IN; a sister, Jean Bryant of Franklin, IN; a son-in-Law, Herbert Richardson of Columbus, IN; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur Brannan and Jeanette Hedger Brannan Lucas; a daughter, Janet Sue Lucas Richardson; and a brother, Arthur Dale Brannan.
