Dorothy Rachael Fields (1918 - 2012)
Dorothy Rachael Fields passed away Thursday, May 3, 2012. Service: 2 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church of Kennedale. Her beloved pastor, Brian Eason, and great-grandson, Cannon Earp, will officiate. Interment: Emerald Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Emerald Hills Funeral Home. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, contributions to the multipurpose building fund of First Baptist Church of Kennedale would be appreciated.
Mrs. Fields went to be with her Lord on May 3, 2012, in Whitney where, she lived her last eight years with her only child, daughter Ann Mathias, and her husband, Mike. She was born Nov. 17, 1918, in Montague to Carroll and Kate Loyd. She married Harold "Bud" Fields in 1935 in Wichita Falls. After marriage, Dorothy and Bud lived and worked in Pueblo, Colo., for a few years. They then moved back to Kennedale and worked several years for Consolidated Aircraft. Dorothy next worked for Tandy Corp. in Fort Worth until her retirement. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Kennedale over 65 years. She loved the Church and its activities - especially those involving her Sunday school class. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her brother, Melvin Loyd; and her sister, Susie Loyd Taylor. She was the "baby" of her parent family.
Survivors: Daughter, Ann and husband, Mike, of Whitney; grandchildren, Craig Earp and wife, Kristi, of Waco and Kim Earp Mayse and husband, Robbie, of Grandview. Also surviving are her great-grandchildren, Cannon Earp and wife, Samantha, KrisAnn Earp, Kendall Earp, Carson Earp, Cooper Earp, Rachael Mayse Cummings and husband, Brandon, Rustin Mayse and fiancee, Ashli Edwards, Misty Mayse and Melody Mayse. She was also privileged and happy to get to know her 2-year-old great-great-granddaughter, Brooklynn Kate Cummings. She cherished all of her extended family. They were the light of her life! She will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved her.
