After graduating from BYU, Pauline moved to San Francisco where she worked as a secretary in a stock brokerage firm. It was in San Francisco that she met her first husband, James A. (Jim) Johnson. They were married in the Los Angeles Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1962. Jim's job eventually took them to Anchorage, AK where they raised their four daughters: Valerie, Michelle, Monica, and Colleen. Pauline would spend 21 years in Alaska, actively serving in the Relief Society and various auxiliaries of the Church as well as in various community volunteer capacities.
After losing Jim in 1987, Pauline met and married Francis (Fran) Eickbush in the Jordan River Utah Temple in 1989. Through this marriage, she gained three stepsons: Gregory, David, and Daniel. After relocating to the Washington, D.C. area for Fran's job, he and Pauline eventually retired to Utah. They were able to serve two missions for the Church before she was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease which curtailed much of her active service in the community.
Pauline is survived by her husband, Francis D. Eickbush, daughters Valerie Johnson, Michelle Collins (Michael), Monica Wood (Andrew), and Colleen Johnson, stepson Gregory Eickbush (Chikako), as well as brothers Sims Lowry (Kathy), Randy Lowry (Lisa), and thirteen grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, James A. Johnson, and stepsons David Eickbush and Daniel Eickbush.
Funeral Services will be Friday, September 8th at 11:00 am at the Orchard Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 828 S. Locust Avenue, Pleasant Grove, UT, where a Viewing will be held prior from 9:30 am to 10:30 am. Interment will be in the Provo City Cemetery.
