Funeral services for Mildred Lorene Edwards, 90, of Washington will be held Friday, Dec. 19, 2008 at Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel with Dennis Fulks officiating. Interment will be at Washington Cemetery under the direction of Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Purcell.
Mrs. Edwards died Dec. 16, 2008 at Sunset Estates Nursing Home in Purcell.
She was born Jan. 21, 1918 in Konawa, the oldest of four children of Donald Webster Lowry and Elva Ethel (Herndon) Lowry. She was reared in Konawa, graduating from Vamoosa Schools.
On Sept. 17, 1936 she maarried Nathan Roosevelt Edwards in Konawa. The couple reared three daughters, Janet, Joan and Jean. In the early years of their marriage they lived in various towns in Oklahoma before settling in Washington in 1948.
Mrs. Edwards worked as a homemaker and was a member of the Garden Club. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents and one brother, Kenneth Lowry.
Survivors include three daughters, Janet Atnip and her husband, Joe, of Washington, Joan McClard and her husband, Delbert, of Noble and Jean Rider and her husband, Kenneth, of Moore; one sister, Amelia Phelps of Konawa; one brother, Tony Lowry of Konawa; six grandchildren; three step-grandchilden; six great-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
