Rand Neil Lowe, 56, passed away 9 October 2003 in his home at Salmon, Idaho. He was born 23 December 1946 in Pocatello, Idaho to Elmer W. Quigley and Bernice Wellard Lowe. He was raised in Pocatello, Idaho and graduated from Highland High in 1965. Rand enlisted in the US Marine Corps in 1966, served his country in the Vietnam War and was awarded the High Marksmanship Award. He married Nancy E. Tillotson in February 1967 and together they had three children. Rand served as a fire fighter-EMT for the Blackfoot Fire Department and he coached youth baseball. He later owned and operated the McKim Creek Ranch and the Shady Nook Restaurant with his family in Salmon. He also worked and was very talented in the areas of welding, fabrication, concrete work and masonry. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, prospecting for gold and the outdoors, but most of all he cherished the time he spent with his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his son and daughters, Jason (Quigley) Lowe, Jody (Lowe), Crystal and Kristie (Lowe) Smith; grandchildren, Aubrey Lowe, Devin Smith, Tyrell Lowe and Deryan Smith; mother and stepfather, Bernice and Dell Lowe; sisters and brother, LaFawn Hensley, Lynn Adele Nielsen and Kort Lowe and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Rand held in high esteem his many loyal friends. He was a beloved father and grandfather. Services were held 23 October 2003 at the Salmon Cemetery followed by burial in the Salmon Cemetery under the auspices of the Lloyd Shaw Post No. 67 of Salmon. Arrangements were by the Salmon River Funeral Chapel of Salmon.
