MARRIOTT/SLATERVILLE- Bernice Kidman Lowe, 91, passed away peacefully of natural causes on November 15, 2012 surrounded by loving family.
She was born on March 28, 1921 in Logan, Utah, a daughter of Robert John Martin and Marie Glauser Stettler.
She married Milton Victor Kidman on November 16, 1938 in Logan. Their marriage was solemnized on December 19, 1941 in the Logan LDS Temple. Milton died October 15, 1988. Bernice later married Clyde D. Lowe on June 22, 1992. Clyde passed away on January 11, 2002.
Bernice attended and graduated from Painter's Beauty School in 1962. She moved to Ogden in 1940, then to Slaterville in 1943.
She was a member of the Marriott/Slaterville 3rd Ward and served in many positions in the Church at ward and stake levels. She also served on the County Legislative Women's Council, was the Slaterville Farm Bureau President for five years, received Weber County's 4-H Service awards, and many Farm Bureau Awards. She helped operate a farm in Slaterville where milk cows and a variety of crops were raised. She was also an outstanding promoter and breeder of Paint and American Quarter Horses. Bernice had a beauty salon and ran a café at the Golden Spike.
Bernice always welcomed everyone into her home, adored her family, and spent countless hours at family parties with her children and grandchildren.
Surviving are five daughters, Maurine (Carl) Parker, Mary Lynn Happenny, Vickie (Vern) Butler, all of Slaterville, Beverly (Alan) Wilson of Clinton, and Kathie Thompson of Honeyville; three step-children, Donna (Clark) Maxfield of Hooper, Norma (Clifford) Helms of Lehi, and Gary (Tana) Lowe of Hooper; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. They were her whole world.
Bernice was preceded in death by three brothers, three sisters, and a great-granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Monday, November 19 from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday morning from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m.
Interment, Logan City Cemetery.
