Eastport, Mary E. Lowe, 86 died Friday, April 2, 1999, at a Calais hospital after a brief illness. She was born in Eastport, Feb. 28, 1913, the daughter of Arthur M. and Mary (Boyd) Farris. She was educated in the Eastport schools and had been employed in the local canneries and at Guilford Industries of Eastport. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Eastport and a member of the Daughters of Isabella. She was predecesased by her husband Thomas L. Lowe in 1976; a daughter Elizabeth Mills; sons Robert and Michael. She is survived by two sons, Paul, and James, one daughter Catherine McCannell and by grandchildren, Karen, Mary, Jeanette, Michael and Patrick and by 12 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
