Bill Lovorn -- 78, died Tuesday, January 4, 2011, in a Mobile hospital after a lengthy illness due to complications following a fall. He leaves his wife of 57 years, Janet Ezell Lovorn; his sons, Rick (Lee) Lovorn, Gary (Sandi) Lovorn and Joe (Leslie) Lovorn daughter-in-law, Vivian Lovorn; grandsons, Scott (April) Lovorn Andy (Rebekah) Lovorn, Timothy Lovorn, and Matthew Lovorn; granddaughters, Ashley (Aaron) Cook and Cate Lovorn; great-granddaughter, Riley Lovorn; brother, Jim (Cindy) Lovorn. Bill was preceded in death by his son, Tim Lovorn. Born in Thomastown, MS in 1932, he moved to Pascagoula with his parents during World War II when his father joined the war effort helping build ships at Ingalls. After marrying Janet, his high school sweet heart, and the birth of their first two sons, Bill moved to Mobile to work for the Lerio Corporation. He rose to the position of Plant Manager and after 26 years of service he accepted the position of VP and General Manager of Sirco Systems in Mobile where he remained until he retired in 1992. He was a graduate of Spring Hill College where he received his degree in Industrial Management. Bill worked tirelessly in the community as a long time member and two time president of the Mobile Exchange Club and served as Alabama District President in 1979/80. Funeral services will be held from Christ United Methodist Church on Friday, January 7, 2011, at 3:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the church. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery West. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Exchange Club Family Center of Mobile, 601 Bel Air Blvd., #100, Mobile, AL 36606-3504, or to Christ United Methodist Church, 6101 Grelot Rd., Mobile, AL 36609.
