Frederick was the son of William and Mary Lovett, he was born and brought up in Brynmawr Breconshire. He married Harriet Bailey in 1907, they had 2 children but sadly Harriet died in 1909 as did her young son. Fred then married Margaret Jones in 1913, they had 4 children, the youngest Clarice died just 2 days old and was buried with Harriet his first wife.
