Carita Liu Eggers Tempest, 85, formerly of Longmont, died August 9, 2016 in Thornton, Colorado. She was born November 12, 1930 in Pocatello, Idaho to Cyril and Elizabeth (Myers) Loveland. On July 25, 1951 she married Harold Hillen Eggers in Pocatello, Idaho. Together they raised three daughters: Kristen, Brenda, and Karen. He preceded her in death in 1991. Later she married Blaine Golden Tempest on March 24, 2000 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Together they served in the Denver, Colorado Temple. He also preceded her in death in 2010.
Carita was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Longmont Mountain View Ward for many years. Recently she was a member of the Thornton Ward. She enjoyed serving in many positions in the church throughout her life and attending the temple.
She was a homemaker whose favorite activities were quilting, sewing, reading, and genealogy. She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed keeping up with her grand and great grandchildren's activities on Instagram and Facebook.
Surviving her are daughters Kristen (Wayne) St. Jeor of Layton, Utah; Brenda Bozeman of Brighton, Colorado, and Karen (Donald) Bradford of Thornton, Colorado. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and her brother Royce Loveland of Tustin, California. Preceding her in death are her two husbands, her parents, her sister Lela Ash, and brother Elwin "Bud" Loveland.
A viewing will be held on Sunday, August 14, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Howe Mortuary in Longmont. Another viewing will be held from 10:00 – 10:40 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 15, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Mountain View Ward, 2200 West 11th Avenue, Longmont. Burial will follow at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery.
