Elizabeth Inez "Libby" Lovelace Gilpin, born April 1, 1936, in York, S.C., and a resident of Panama City, Fla., since 1969, passed away peacefully at her home Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2009.
Libby was a devoted mother and grandmother and loved her family dearly. She was a member of the Daughters of the Nile.

She is survived by four children, Brenda Sanders and husband, Alvin, Bill Grayson and wife, Sandra, Sandra Barbaresi and husband, James, all of Panama City, and Richard Grayson and wife, Robin, of Readyville, Tenn.; seven grandchildren, Brandy Sanders, Michael Grayson, Sharon Hinton, Crystal Hammon, Michelle Hammon, Ryan Grayson and Kayla Grayson; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Louise Dover and Coleen Ritz; brother, Lonzo Lovelace Jr. of Kings Mountain, N.C.; and lifelong friend, Jack Roberts. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Gilpin; father, Alonzo Lovelace; mother, Geneva Putnam Lovelace; two sisters, Mozell Bullard and Mary Sue Quinn; and a grandson, Brian Sanders.

Funeral services will be held at 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 6, 2009, in the Wilson Funeral Home chapel. Prior to services, the family will receive friends from 4-5 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. The family will be receiving friends at Libby's home following services.
