Catherine Elizabeth “Cathy” Belair, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away on Saturday, October 8, 2016, in the Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas, at the age of 66 years.
Cathy Belair was born on January 7, 1950, in Blackwell, Oklahoma, to Leonard Jefferson and Mary Elizabeth (Manley) Loveall. She grew up in Blackwell with her siblings, Judy, Connie, Becky and Lenny and attended Blackwell Public Schools She had a fun loving childhood and enjoyed playing softball and singing in show choir. On June 7, 1969, she married her high school sweetheart, Fred Belair. They made Blackwell their home and had multiple job opportunities along the way. Her love of wanting to help other people led her to a career in respiratory therapy. She was proud of the accomplishment of obtaining her college degree and becoming a registered respiratory therapist. She provided a loving home to her children, Mendy, Scott, Kelle and Beth. When her children were grown, she provided the same love for her grandchildren, Taylor, Clint, Jeremy, Trenton, Colton, Hollie, Colby, Dawson, Tobyn, Jaxson, Addison and Lauren. She attended the First Baptist Church and also enjoyed fishing and attending her grandchildren’s many activities.
She is survived by her husband, Fred Belair of Blackwell; a son, Scott Belair and wife Jenny of Enid; three daughters, Mendy Snow and husband Todd of Lamont, Kelle Shultz and husband Eddie of Blackwell, and Beth Silks and husband Joey of Lamont; a brother, Lenny Loveall and wife Linda of Locust Grove; three sisters, Judy Oder of Blackwell, Connie Stanford of Blackwell, and Becky Currier and husband Nick of Nardin; and eleven grandchildren, Clint Shultz, Jeremy Belair, Trenton Belair, Colton Shultz, Hollie Williams, Colby Shultz, Dawson Silks, Tobyn Snow, Jaxson Silks, Addison Silks and Lauren Belair.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Ronnie Loveall; and a grandson, Taylor Snow.
Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 12th in the First Baptist Church in Blackwell with Eddie Shultz officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackwell Cemetery.
Casketbearers will be Clint Shultz, Colton Shultz, Colby Shultz, Jeremy Belair, Trenton Belair, Lane Williams, Dawson Silks, and Tobyn Snow. Serving as honorary casketbearers will be Todd Snow, Eddie Shultz, Scott Belair, Joey Silks and Lenny Loveall.
A memorial has been established in her honor with the respiratory therapy unit at Bass Memorial Hospital in Enid in c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 W. Padon, Blackwell, Oklahoma 74631.
