Duane S. Love, age 83, died peacefully July 26, 2004, in Carmel, CA. Duane was born in Baker City, Oregon, August 9, 1920, to sheep ranchers, Clarence and Ethel Love. After WWII, he moved to Toledo, Ohio, and began his career in the commercial painting business with his father-in-law, Herbert Myers. Duane eventually bought the Myers and Watters Painting Business and retired in 1990 after 40 plus years.
Duane retired to Florida at the age of 70 and pursued a new endeavor, switching from commercial painting to pictorial fine arts, with a specialty in oil. In October 2003, he moved to Carmel to be closer to two of his children, Jim and Marcia.
Duane came full circle in his life travels when he was laid to rest in the Love Cemetery in Keating, Oregon, July 31. He is survived by his sons, Jim (Cyd) and Stuart; daughter, Marcia (Steve); four step-children, Greg, Michelle, Lisa and Kim; brother, Walter (Lucy) and grandchildren, Brian and Amy.
