Versie "Jackie" Love, 89, died Jan. 1, 2001, of natural causes in Klamath Falls.
Mrs. Love was born March 18, 1911, in Ohatchee, Ala., to William Jackson and Bethnie Burgess-Jackson. After completing her high school education, she lived in New York, where she worked for the Commodore Hotel. She later worked as a bookkeeper for the Dunsmuir Water Co. in Dunsmuir, Calif., before eventually moving to Klamath Falls.
Mrs. Love enjoyed playing cards, entertaining friends, travel, and dancing.
Survivors include her stepdaughter and her husband, Roberta and Jack Ball of Seattle; step-grandsons, Larry and Jeremy Ball; nieces, Beth Wiesener of Austin, Texas, Faye Kimbrell of Suwanee, Ga., Kathie and Roger Vargas of Tucson, Ariz., and Valerie Jackson of New Jersey; cousin and close friend, Thelma Warlick of Talladega, Ala.; friend and sister-in-law, Jewell Jackson of Anniston, Ala.; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Bob" Love, in 1992.
She also leaves her life-long friend, Laila Payne of Klamath Falls.
