BLOOMFIELD — Evelyn Jayne Carpenter, 55, of Bloomfield, died 9:15 p.m. Sunday at Indiana University Hospital in Indianapolis after a hard-fought battle with cancer for six years.

Born May 30, 1952, in Indianapolis, she was the daughter of Ralph and Martha (Wagner) Love. She was a homemaker and attended the Tulip Church of God.

Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Carpenter Jr.; two daughters, April Ranard and her husband, Mark, of Bloomfield, and Amy Carpenter of Terre Haute; five grandchildren, Aryel, Noah, Alyvia, Nathan and Mariah; three brothers and their wives. Ralph and Karen Love and Brian and Wilma Love, all of Martinsville, and Cheyenne and Lacindra Love of Gosport; and three sisters, Rita Martin and her husband, Mike, of Camby, Teresa Cohen and her husband, Terry, and April Love, all of Martinsville.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield, with the Revs. John Dunn and Jim Dunn officiating. Burial will be at Prairie Chapel Cemetery in Lyons.
