Graveside services for Robert Hamilton Love of McMinnville will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, at the Willamette National Cemetery in Portland. Arrangements are being handled by Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service.
Mr. Love died at the Willamette Valley Medical Center in McMinnville on Sunday, Oct. 21, 2007. He was 79.
He was born on Oct. 25, 1927, in Richmond, Mo. After graduating from high school there, he enlisted in the Army and served during the Korean War.
After his discharge, he worked for the U.S. Postal Service, then moved to California and went into aviation field.
After a number of years with Lockheed, he moved to Salem in 1970 and took a job in the lumber industry. After retiring in 2004, he moved to McMinnville.
"Robert loved his children, and especially his grandchildren," the family said. "He also loved to tinker and build."
In addition to his wife, Barbara, Mr. Love is survived by two daughters, Sondra Love-Reed of Sheridan and Sharon Eady-Jacox of Portland; three sons, John of Hillsboro, David of Portland and Paul of Bend; two sisters, Betty Edwards and Dorothy Littleton of Missouri; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
