AE 55-11-29. Abraham Ephraim Louw was born August 9th, 1802 on the Louw Farm of about 160 acres snuggled up to the east side of Huzzy Hill just south of the present day Port Ewen Elementary school. He was born on the farm as was his father Ephraim Louw, Jr born 1779. His mother was Deborah Van Vliet 1777-1851. Along with an older sister Sarah b.1800, younger sisters Maria b.1805, and Catherine b.1806, and one younger brother John Ephraim b.1808, they all grew up and worked on the farm. As the eldest son Abraham was due to inherit the farm from his father Ephraim, but died unexpectedly in 1858, six years before his father. So the land was left to youngest son John Ephraim instead. I have seen no indication that Abraham ever married, but his brother John Ephraim did marry and have children.
