MARGARET ELIZABETH LOUDENSLAGER "SIS" ATHEY, 92, of 9640 Sylvania Metamora, Sylvania, Ohio, formerly of Hagerstown, Md., died Sunday, April 15, 2012, at Sunset Village Care Center in Toledo, Ohio.
Born June 15, 1919, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late John Everhart and Helen Pinnine Baker Loudenslager.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas L. Athey, on June 15, 1994.
She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great- grandmother, and friend to all.
She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Jennifer Jane Garnes and husband, Richard, of Toledo; four grandchildren, Kimberly Howard and husband, John, of Paris, France, Tamara Wright and husband, David, of Cleveland, Ohio, Lucinda Henrichson and husband, Edward, of Houston, Texas, and Thomas Garnes and wife, Jennifer of Cleveland; 11 great-grandchildren, Hayley Howard, Cassidy Howard, Gracie Howard, Riley Howard, Kendall Wright, Carson Wright, Carter Henrichson, Isabel Henrichson, Victoria Henrichson, Ethan Garnes and Emma Garnes; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by four sisters, Audrey V. Loudenslager, Gladys McAllister, C. Jane Waltz and Betty Joan Loudenslager.
Funeral services will be held at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, on Friday at 11 a.m. The Rev. Clark D. Carr will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
Memorial donations may be sent to Arthritis Foundation, 22 S. Market St., Frederick, MD 21701.
