"Lee" was born in Fresno to Edgar and Nellie Lotz. He passed away in Fresno.
As a teen, he developed a love for cars along with his older brothers, other relatives and friends.
He joined the U.S. Navy at age 17, then married his sweetheart, Patricia Sumner, on December 28, 1948. In his years in the Navy, he traveled the world protecting the seas.
After his tour of duty with the Navy, he worked with his brother in the used car business where he raced hard tops at Kearney Bowl.
In 1975, he established a successful auto repair business in San Leandro. In 1980, along with his brother-in-law Bill, he started a used car dealership in Fresno.
In the early nineties, he and Pat retired on their ranch in Mariposa. He was a loving husband, a good father and devoted grandfather. He will be deeply missed.
Leo was preceded in death by his brothers Bill and Edgar; and sisters Katherine and Gladys. He survived by his wife Pat; sons, Carroll Lotz, Jr. and Randy Lotz; daughter, Bonnie Hanks; sisters, Lois Wolfe and Bonnie Cody; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be at Chapel of the Light on Saturday, March 24, 2007, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
A Funeral Service will be held at Chapel of the Light on Saturday, March 24, 2007, at 10:00 a.m.
Interment will be at Belmont Memorial Park.
