CAYCE Funeral service for Doris Lott Furtick Craft, 91, will be held at 3pm Sunday, March 1, 2009, at Brookland United Methodist Church, officiated by Rev. Carol Cannon and Rev. Robert Cannon. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Jerome Raley, Johnny Raley, Steve Summer, David Rish, Richard Hornsby and Steve Day. Honorary pallbearers will be the Loyal Workers Sunday School Class, Young at Heart, and the United Methodist Women. The family will receive friends from 2 until 3pm prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be made to Brookland United Methodist Church, 541 Meeting St., West Columbia, SC 29169. Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Craft, wife of Daniel Colie Craft, died Friday, February 27, 2009. Born in Orangeburg, SC, she was a daughter of the late Arthur Pinckney Lott and Olie Ioda Dickert Lott. She was a member of Brookland United Methodist Church. Mrs. Craft was retired from Pacific Mills and was the former co-owner of Wesco Trailer. She also worked part-time for the S.C. Tax Commission. She was a member of the Loyal Workers Sunday School Class, and the Young at Heart at Brookland United Methodist Church, and was also a member of the United Methodist Women. Mrs. Craft was the last of four sisters.
Survivors include: her husband, D. Colie Craft of Cayce; son, Lee J. "Jackie" Furtick, III (Nora) of Sandy Run; step-children, Mary Anne Cooper (Bob), Frances Leaphart (Larry) and Cay Houck (Louis); one granddaughter, Leigh Ann Furtick Randall (Daniel); two great grandchildren, William Furtick Randall and Hampton Teague Randall; eight step-grandchildren and eleven stepgreat grandchildren; also several nieces and nephews.
