Mrs. Cook, 73, died at 12:17 p.m. Wednesday following a short illness. Born July 25, 1939, she was the daughter of Alfred and Blanche Parkison Looney of Polk County, where she joined one sister, Doris.
She was baptized at an early age and was a long-time member of Lynchburg Baptist Church in Lynchburg.
On June 19, 1959, she married Leland Donald Cook, and to this union of 53 years, two children were born — a son, Lowell Dean, and a daughter, Lana Jean.
She is survived by her husband, Leland, of the home; her son, Lowell and wife Jeanne of Willard; and her daughter, Lana Neill and husband Chad of Dunnegan. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Amanda Neill of Dunnegan, Cory Neil of Springfield, Stephen Cook and Jacob Cook, both of Willard; her sister, Doris Wommack of Jefferson City; as well as many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed making many quilts and afghans, which she shared with others.
Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery in Bolivar.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Good Samaritan Boys Ranch of Brighton.
Service: 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, at Murray Funeral Home in Bolivar. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19, at the funeral home.
