Services for Sylvia Estelle Ambrose, 84, of Killeen will be at 2 p.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Killeen with the Rev. Adam Martinez officiating.
Burial will follow at Killeen City Cemetery.
Mrs. Ambrose died June 6, 2005, at her residence.
She was born Dec. 21, 1920, in Montgomery, Ala. [sic La.], the daughter of the late Sylvester and Ella Longino.
Mrs. Ambrose and her husband, Felix Ambrose, moved to Killeen in 1949. He preceded her in death.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Altar Rosary Society and the Knight Cappers that assisted the Knights of Columbus.
Mrs. Ambrose was a full-time mother and housewife. She was an ambassador for children's welfare.
Survivors include four sons, Ronald Ambrose of Morgan's Point Resort, Anthony Ambrose and Thomas Ambrose, both of Killeen, and Michael Ambrose of San Antonio; two daughters, Ella Zinngrabe-Boyler of Bettendorf, Iowa, and Sandra Little of Killeen; a brother, Thomas Longino of Pensacola, Fla.; 13 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Ambrose was also preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.
The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Killeen, where a rosary will be recited at 7 p.m.
