Bessie Longfellow Dill
Funeral services for Bessie Longfellow Dill, 87, of Felton, were held Sept. 15 at the Berry-Short Funeral Home, Felton. Mrs. Dill died Sunday, Sept. 10, 2006, in the University of Maryland Hospital, Baltimore.
Mrs. Dill was youngest of the 10 children born to the late John K. Longfellow and Ella Downs Longfellow.
She helped on the farm in her early years, then stayed home to take care of her aging parents when they grew ill. She also loved and cared for her niece, who was like a daughter to her.
After her marriage to the late Preston Dill, Mrs. Dill made her home on a Felton farm. The most important thing in her life was family and she loved to spend time with and do things for them.
She was fair, honest, trustworthy and loving, and kind and good to all living creatures.
Mrs. Dill will be missed, loved and remembered eternally.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her eight sisters and brother.
Mrs. Dill is survived by her niece, Mary Ann Holland; a daughter, Karen Myer; and a grandson who meant the world to her, Jordan Myer, all of the family farm in Felton.
Interment was in the Mount Olive Cemetery, Sandtown.
