Mrs. Andrew Berryman, 76, Buried Sunday, Had Lived In Edina Sixteen Years
Mrs. Andrew Berryman of Edina, 76 years old, died at 5 o'clock last Thursday afternoon, Nov. 15, 1956, at the Grim-Smith Hospital in Kirksville, where she had been a patient only a day. She had not been well for some time.
The body was brought to the Hudson Funeral Home here where it remained until time for the services at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon. They were here at the Christian Church, of which mrs. Berryman was a member, conducted by the Rev. O. S. Lincoln of Novelty. burial was in the Linville Cemetery were Mr. Berryman, who died Sept. 27, 1951, was buried.
Two daughters and two sons survive: Mrs. Maurita Loveless of Edina, Miss Bernice Berryman of St. Louis and Elza and Floyd Berryman of Des Moines, Iowa. Besides these Mrs. Berryman is survived by two grandchildren and two great grandchildren and four sisters, who are: Ada, Mrs. Harry Noblitt, of Edina; Nell, Mrs. Dell W. Fleak, of south of town; Mrs. Mary Woodard of St. Louis and Mrs. Nancy Gibler of Rosamond, Calif.
Before Mrs. Berryman's marriage at Rutledge De. 3, 1903 to Mr. Berryman, or Andy Berryman as he was known, she was Miss Laura Dell Longfellow, one of six daughters of Weller Longfellow and his wife, Julia Ann Williams Longfellow. She was born Aug. 15, 1880, in Knox County. She had lived in this county most of her life and she and Mr. Berryman moved from their farm northeast of Edina to town about sixteen years ago. She was a member of the Royal Neighbors of America.
Relatives from away who attended the funeral of Mrs. Berryman were her daughter and sons, Miss Bernice Berryman of St. Louis and Elza and Floyd Berryman of Des Moines, Iowa; her grandson, Wayne Loveless, and his wife of Sun Valley, Calif., and granddaughter Mrs. Glen Slates, and Mr. Slates of Kirksville, and a brother-in-law, Charles Carder, of Hannibal. Mrs. Carder is ill in a hospital in St. Louis and was enable to attend. Mrs. Woodard of St. Louis, a sister, visited the late Mrs. Berryman a week before her death and did not come, and another sister, Mrs. Gibler, of Rosamond, Calif. was unable to come because of illness.
