Maurine E. Bruens
HOOPESTON --- Maurine E. Bruens 70 of Hoopeston died at 5:48 am Sunday, November 16, 2003 at her residence.
She was born Thursday, March 9, 1933 in Hoopeston, the daughter of Earl Arthur Russell Longfellow and Lota Jane Wagoner Longfellow Sr. She married Willard H. "Will" Bruens Jan. 28, 1951, at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Woodworth, Illinois. He survives. Also, surviving: three daughters, Deborah (Kevin) Tyler, Sandy (John) Bray and Janie (Allan) Baker, all of Hoopeston; one son, Steve (Teresa) Bruens of Wellington; 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; one sister, Maxine Hudspeth of Lafayette, Ind.; three brothers, Lester "Babe" (Mary) Longfellow of Cissna Park, Max Longfellow of Hoopeston and Arthur (Cotton) Longfellow of Great Falls, Mont.; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one granddaughter, one sister and four brothers.
Mrs. Bruens was a life resident of Hoopeston. She was a homemaker and a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Hoopeston. She enjoyed collecting angels and being with her family.
Funeral Services: 11 a.m. Thursday, November 20, 2003 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 302 N. Market St. in Hoopeston; Officiating: Rev Wallace J. Waite. Burial: Floral Hill Cemetery in Hoopeston. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, November 19, 2003 at Hamilton Orr Funeral Home, 427 E. Main St. in Hoopeston. Memorials to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
