Son of Stephen Longfellow IV and Zilpha Wadsworth (both buried at this cem.); *see his mother's gravesite for his siblings.

He married on 14 Aug 1831 in Portland, Cumberland Co., ME, Marianne Preble b. 30 Jul 1812 in Saco, York Co., ME, d. 14 Mar 1888. They had the following children all b. in Portland, Cumberland Co., ME: Stephen b. 27 Jun 1833; Stephen b. 1834; William Pitt Preble b. 1836; Ellen Theodora b. 1838; Henry Wadsworth Preble b. 1839; and Marian Adele Longfellow b. 1849.

Marianne divorced Stephen in 1850 because of his alcohlism; he died of alcholism in Boston of the same year.
