A daughter of the late William and Eliza Carpenter Long, she was born near Port Republic 56 years ago. She lived there until 1920 when she with her husband and family moved to Pottstown, Pa. They moved to Washington in 1933 and have since resided there.
Mrs. Arey was a member of the Church of the Brethren, having united in 1903 during evangelistic services conducted by her brother, the Rev. I. S. Long. She lived a beautiful and devoted Christian life. Mrs. Arey was active in the church and had a wide acquaintance among its leaders.
Surviving are her husband; a son, William O. Arey, of Atlantic City; and a foster daughter, Mabel Nair Arey Biehl, of Washington: and these brothers and sisters; Dr. I. S. Long, Baltimore; Dr. J. A. Long, Frederick, Md.; Rev. A. W. Long, Bealton; E. H. Long. Mrs. Dora E. Hooke and Mrs. Charles D. Sanger, all of Washington.
Funeral services will be held from the Mill Creek Church of the Brethren this afternoon at one o'clock, friends leaving the M. F. Long residence at 12:30. Her pastor, the Rev. Rufus Bowman, of Washington, and the Rev. H. C. Early will officiate. Burial will be in the Mill Creek Cemetery
