Maj Long was Killed in Action during the Korean War. Long was the senior pilot of a B-26C Invader Bomber assigned to the 90th Bomber Squardon, 3rd Bomber Group. On April 7, 1952, Long was flying a night intruder mission on a railyard southeast of Yongyun N. Korea. After the mission contact with his plane was lost between Pyongyang & Sinanju. Initiatlly he was listed as Missing in Action. On February 28, 1954, his status was changed to Killed in Action Body Not Recovered. Long's name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing.
