Born Oct. 21, 1893, in Monroe County, he was the son of J.W. and Gloria Bush Long.
He lived all his life in Monroe County.
He was a retired farmer. He belonged to the Stoutsville Baptist Church and was a veteran of World War I.
He was Married July 29, 1920, to Dorris Woodworth, who survives.
Other survivors include three sons, Bruce of Paris, E.A. of Moberly and Henry of Mexico; two daughters, Mrs. J.B. Jones of Paris and Mrs. James Kester of Independence; 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Services have been scheduled for Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Agnew Funeral Home, Paris, with the Rev. Paul Metcalf, pastor of the Salem United Methodist Church, officiating.
Burial will be in the Stoutsville Cemetery.
