Georgia was born, April 23, 1938 in Houston, Mississippi and moved to Beloit after she was a year old. She was the only daughter of Clarence Lomax and Jessie (Davidson) Lomax. She attended Beloit public schools and graduated from Beloit Memorial High School in 1956. Georgia married Ernest Brumfield in 1958 and through this marriage two sons were born. In 1972, she was employed at Freeman Shoe Company for 19 years, then at Lab Safety Supply for 13 years before retiring in 2005. Georgia was a faithful member and Usher at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Beloit for many years. She was also a member of Rebecca Chapter #4 Eastern Star and the Beloit Women's Culture Club.
