MRS. M. H. BASSETT DIES IN TULSA, OKLA.
Arcola, Ill., Aug. 13. — Word has just been received in Arcola of the death of Mrs. M. H. Bassett of Tulsa, Okla. The remains are to be shipped here for burial.
Mrs. Bassett's maiden name was Mary Logan. Her father was John A. Logan, a prominent citizen of Douglas county during his life time. She grew to womanhood in Arcola and married M.H. Bassett, editor of the Arcola Record. After selling the Record, Mr. Bassett bought the Mattoon Journal and was later editor of the Kankakee Republican. His death occurred in Tulsa some years ago. One son, William, survives.
