SPRINGFIELD - Bettie Sue Logan, 61, of Springfield died at 10:20 a.m. Tuesday, April 21, 2009, at Capitol Care Nursing Home.

She was born Nov. 21, 1947, in Eden, Miss., the daughter of Tommie and Luella Shehi Logan.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; and four sisters.

She is survived by three sons, Joe H. Smith Jr. (Dina) of Ashland, Va., Marc L. Smith (Faith) of Decatur and David E. Smith of Orlando, Fla.; a daughter, Deanna Logan of Springfield; 11 grandchildren; four brothers, William Logan Sr., Chester Logan (Artie) and Tommy Lee Logan, all of Springfield, and Leon Logan (Opie) of Atlanta; a sister, Rochelle Logan of Springfield; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Bettie was a homemaker and a member of Second Timothy Baptist Church.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the time of funeral services at noon Monday, April 27, 2009, at Second Timothy Baptist Church, with Minister Hurley Harris officiating. Burial will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery.

W.W. White-Pettiford Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
