Elaine E. Goltz, age 88 of Wood Lake, died Saturday, April 3, 2010 in Parkview Home in Belview. Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, April 8, 2010 in St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Posen Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota. Visitation will be held from 5 until 8:00 P.M. Wednesday in the Sunset Funeral Home in Echo and continue Thursday one hour prior to services in St. Luke's Lutheran Church, rural Wood Lake. There will be a prayer service Wednesday evening at 7:00 P.M. in the funeral home in Echo. On-line condolences may be sent to sunsetfuneralandcremation.com. Elaine Elda Goltz was born July 3, 1921 on the family farm in Rock Lake Township, Lyon County, Minnesota to Gustav and Julia (Stoering) Loeck. She was baptized at home on July 24, 1921 by Rev. J. P. Scherf and confirmed May 31, 1936 in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Balaton by Rev. J. E. Bade. She grew up on the farm and attended Balaton Public School graduating from Balaton High School in 1939. On June 30, 1940 she was united in marriage to Henry William Goltz in St. Peter's Ev. Lutheran Church in Balaton. They lived and farmed together South of Wood Lake for over 50 years. Henry died on July 13, 1990 and on August 8, 2006 she entered the Parkview Home in Belview. She was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church where she belonged to the Ladies Aid and helped in the kitchen. She also belonged to a homemakers club, birthday club, a card club and a make it with wool contest in the 1950's. Elaine was an excellent cook, cooking for Parkview Home and restaurants in Cottonwood and Marshall. She enjoyed her large garden, canning, reading, crossword puzzles and singing.
Elaine E. Goltz died Saturday, April 3, 2010 in Parkview Home in Belview at the age of 88 years and 9 months.
She is survived by her children; Lila Rekedal (Bob) of Willmar, Tim Goltz (Mary) of Chaska and Jim Goltz (Jennifer) of Wood Lake, daughters-in-law; Rosemary and Julie of Coon Rapids, 10 grandchildren; Rachael Boonstra (Mark), Roxanne Guerra (Craig), Ross Rekedal (Denise), Dayna Scott (Ryan), Claire Goltz, Nathan Goltz, Michael Sowards, Matthew Sowards, Mickayla Sowards and Miles Sowards and 4 great grandchildren; Taylor and Samantha Boonstra and Erin and Ethan Rekedal. Also surviving are her sister Laurice Klukas of Balaton and sister-in-law Leona Krupp of Albert Lea.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Henry, son Ervin on September 11, 1999, grandson Darren Goltz on January 1, 2003, two great granddaughters Brittany and Briana Bliss in 1986, her two brothers Loren and Marvin Loeck, brother-in-law Jim Klukas and sister-in-law LaVerne Loeck
