George Joy Loder 78, Lincoln, died Sunday (12/16/07) of cancer.
Born in Lincoln on June 12, 1929.
George will be remembered as a kind and generous man who cared deeply for the people in his life. George served in the Navy from 1948 to 1953 as a ET1 during the Korean War, going to Japan, an experience he treasured. He retired September 8th, 1995 from Burlington Northern Railroad as a Machinist after 31 proud years of service.
George was preceded in death by his father, Gerald V. and mother, Florence Seymour Loder, Syracuse; his beloved, Dorathea Kelsey; and daughters, Joy Marie Loder and Linda Joy Kennedy.
He is survived by his son, Thomas Derrick; daughter, Teresa Harper; and daughter and son-in-law, Anne and Alan Wright; and grandchildren, Jennifer, Suzanne, and Michael Wright; many friends and former co-workers.
Memorial service and reception 3 p.m. Thursday (12/20/07) at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home.
Cremation. No visitation.
Private inurnment Lincoln Memorial Park.
Memorials to the American Cancer Society or the University of Nebraska-Lincoln School of Music.
