She married James Henry Clay, Sr. ca 1910, Dallas, Dallas County, Texas. There were six children born of their union. George Marston, James Henry "Junis," Jr., John Robert "J.R.," Billie Jean (Avance), Lorraine Rebecca, and
Bertie Lee.

Margaret lived in California for many years to be near her daughter, Billie Jean Avance and died there in 1971. She is buried next to her husband James Henry Clay, Sr.
