Agnes G. Lewens, 89, of Mosinee, formerly of Arpin, died Saturday, Dec. 11, 2004, at Cedar Ridge Elder Services, Schofield.
She was born Nov. 4, 1915, in Arpin, the daughter of the late Henry and Margaret (Schill) Lochner.
She married Bernard Lewens on July 27, 1937, in Arpin. He died April 6, 1993.
She was a homemaker and was an active member of her parish circles at St. Therese, St. Mark's and St. Paul's Catholic churches.
Agnes loved nature, gardening and being outdoors. She was an avid reader, card and game player and embroidered. She was an excellent baker and cook; nobody can equal her pies and baked chicken.
She had a deep faith, always caring for others before herself. She always saw the good in everyone and every situation. Above all, she loved her family and was the glue that held us all together.
Survivors include two sons, Bud (Marcie) Lewens, Ringle, and Jim (Mary) Lewens, Mosinee; four daughters, Lauralee Donahue, Milwaukee, Liz Senoraske, Schofield, Gert (Tom) Meurett and Peggy (Mark) Kodl, both of Mosinee; 17 grandchildren, Don, Dave and John, Mike, Bill and Eric, Mark, Brian and Keith, Shelly, Steve and Ryan, Ken, Dan and Marie, and Genevieve and Chris; 16 great-grandchildren, Jessie, Bailey, Brandon, Kinsey, Chance, Markie, Easton, Samantha, Charlie, Jesse, Pete, Gabrielle, Kolton, Brooklyn, Mike, Nick, and one on the way; two sisters, Annette Gehrke, Mosinee, and Mary Anne Lochner, Racine; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Medard and Andrew Lochner; and three sisters, Martha Schumacher, Verna Gilszmer and Francis Hlavachek.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2004, at St. Paul Catholic Church, Mosinee. The Rev. Donald Przybylski will officiate. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Kronenwetter.
