Annette Gehrke, 96, Mosinee, died Sunday, December 8, 2013 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital, Wausau.She was born August 5, 1917, at the Lochner homestead in the township of Arpin, Wood County, WI, daughter of the late Henry and Margaret (Schill) Lochner. Her early employment was with the Weinbrenner Shoe Company and the Johnson Glove Company of Marshfield. She then moved to Two Rivers where she worked at the Hamilton Hotel and the Aluminum Goods.
On May 6, 1939, she married Paul Gehrke in Vesper, WI. He preceded her in death, February 5, 2003. They lived in Manitowoc, where her three sons, Paul Jr., James and Thomas, were born. The family then moved to Schofield and a daughter, Kathleen, was born in Wausau.In 1966, Paul Sr. and Annette started the Crestline Mobile Home Park that Annette operated until 1981 when they sold to their daughter. They then moved to Ranger Street in Mosinee. Annette was a Catholic and belonged to Holy Name Parish, Wausau, St. Therese Parish, Schofield and St. Paul Parish, Mosinee. She was a proud member of church choirs and ladies "circles." Until her death she was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Circle for many years.Her favorite times were those spent with family. She was a lover of dogs and cats and shared her home with many of them over the years.
Survivors include three sons, Paul Gehrke Jr., Mosinee, James (Kay Heath) Gehrke, Rhinelander, and Thomas (Merceda Aldridge) Gehrke, Phillips; a daughter, Kathleen Gehrke, Mosinee; 7 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and seven siblings.
Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
