Daniel Lee "Danny" Jones, 66, of Union City, died Jan. 8, 2014, at his home.
Services will be Tuesday at Sunswept Baptist Church in Union City, with the Rev. James Kinsey and Larry Hitesman officiating. Burial will follow in East View Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the church and on Tuesday from until the hour of services at the church.
White-Ranson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Thomas Etheridge, Matthew Brooks, Kevin Powell, Nathan Powell, Jonathan Hill, Benjamin Hill, Isaac Hill, Robert Powell, Courtney Hill and Sean Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be the deacons of Sunswept Baptist Church.
The family requests that memorials be made to the church, to Obion County Hometown Walk of Hope or to the American Heart Association.
Danny was born July 19, 1947, in Sikeston, Mo., son of the late Glenn Robert and Bonita Claire (Baugher) Jones. He married the former Opal Jones Aug. 6, 1965. She survives. He had been employed at the former Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. in Union City for 40 years and 16 days. He was a member and deacon of Sunswept Baptist Church.
He is also survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Michelle and Robert Powell, Christina and Courtney Hill, and Shannon Brooks; his son, James Jones; 12 grandchildren, Jennifer Brooks, Matthew Brooks and Olivia Jones, Kevin Powell, Nathan Powell, Elizabeth Hill, Jonathan Hill, Benjamin Hill, Isaac Hill and Rachel Hill, Sean Jones and Noelle Long; four sisters, Sondra Wills, Brenda Williams, Lisa Jones and Iva Massey; and three brothers, Donald Jones, Jimmy Jones and Wesley Jones.
He was also preceded in death by his brother, Johnny Jay Jones; and his sister, Sharon Lands.
