Sharon Lee Litke
Sharon Lee Litke, age 46, a resident of Pierz, died March 9, 1994, at her home after a long illness.
Funeral services were held March 12 at the First United Church in Little Falls with the Rev. Ron Bergman and Rev. Hal Spann officiating. Burial will be at a later date.
Sharon Lee Litke was born October 7, 1947 in Minneapolis, MN to Jack and Lavina (Hartmann) Smythe. As a young girl she moved with her mother to Pierz, MN where she attended St. Joseph Catholic Elementary School and Father Pierz Memorial High School graduating from the class of 1965. After high school she attended St. Cloud State University. She moved to Minneapolis, later returning to Pierz at which time she worked at the Pine Edge Inn in Little Falls, MN. She was united in marriage on February 8, 1969 to James "Jake" V. Litke at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Pierz, MN. After their marriage the couple moved to St. Cloud where she worked for General Trading Company. In 1973 they relocated to Buh Township, Morrison County, MN, where they farmed. She was also a former employee of the Morrison County DAC, and Thielen's Meats in Pierz, MN. For the past seven years she and her husband have owned and operated Pierz Ready-Mix in Pierz, MN. She was a past member of the Camp Fire Girls where she served as Council President, was a former Cub Scout Den Leader and was very active in the community of Pierz, MN.
Survivors include her husband, James "Jake" of Pierz, a son, Matthew J. Litke of Pierz; daughters, Lizz S. Litke of Pierz, and Sara L. Litke of Minneapolis; her father, Jack Smythe of Minneapolis, and her mother, Lavina Smythe, of Pierz, MN; sisters, Patricia Kerick and husband Tony of Baxter, MN, and Mary Levrien and husband, Jerry of Cambridge, MN.
