Melissa (Litke) Gahler, age 32, of rural Pierz, MN, passed away Thursday, June 16, 2011, at her home following a short, but courageous fight against Cholangiocarcinoma, a rare form of cancer.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 18, 2011, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Harding, MN, with Rev. David Maciej officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, June 17, 2011, at Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Pierz, with a parish prayer service at 7:00 p.m.
Visitation continues at the church on Saturday one hour prior to the service.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband and children, Chet & Mason and Maya Gahler of Pierz; parents, Ron & Dede Litke of Pierz; mother and father-in-law, Sheryl (Joe) Williams of Elysian, MN, and Lyle (Becky) Gahler of Janesville, MN; five brothers and sisters-in-law and many relatives and close friends.
Melissa was preceded in death by her grandparents, Leo & Lillian "Lucky" Swaser and Leo & Bertha Litke.
