Merle Dessie Lipscomb Adams, 105, St. George, W.Va., died on Saturday, June 28, 2008, at Cortland Acres Nursing Home, Thomas, W.Va. Born April 17, 1903, in Preston County, W.Va., she was a daughter of the late Oliver Lipscomb and Anna Elizabeth Victoria Moreland. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John C. Adams, in 1958; four brothers, Alvin, Luther, Earl, and Howard Lipscomb; and three sisters, Esther Martin, Gay Durr, and Dorothy Miller.
She attended the one-room school in White Ridge, W.Va., She was a homemaker and farmer. She was a member of Limestone Methodist Church.
She is survived by one brother, Bryce Lipscomb, Ohio.
Friends were received at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home, Parsons, W.Va., where a service was held today, Thursday, July 3, with the Rev. Neil Parsons officiating.
Interment followed at Limestone Cemetery, St. George.
