Ramona Louise Winter Linton passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 19, 2008.
She was born on January 14, 1920 in Levan, UT to Hyrum Peter Winter and Minnie Chloe Shepherd. Louise married her Juab High School sweetheart, James Ray Linton on June 14, 1941 in the Manti Temple. Louise lived a life of love. She adored her husband, loving his companionship and taking special pleasure in his providing a home filled with activity and joy. Her heart filled with happiness when surrounded by her family. She also loved her Heavenly Father and His Son. She served Them through her activities in the LDS Church, where she was a teacher and a leader in the ward and stake Primary, Sunday School, Young Women, and Relief Society organizations. Louise radiated a special beauty in her life, her smile, and in her service. She lived to serve. She volunteered many hours as a PTA member and as an election judge. Her service was especially sweet when she could feed those around her, help a family member through a difficulty, and make life a little brighter for someone in need. She also enjoyed quilting and making items for the Church's Humanitarian Program with great friends in St. George, where she and Ray spent the winter months following his retirement.
Louise is survived by her husband; two sisters (Marva and Vera); three of her four children, Dale (Stephanie), Morris (Jane), and Cynthia (Cary); a foster daughter (Magdeline); 18 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren. Immediate family members preceding her in death are her parents, two brothers (Jay and Ben), one sister (Barbara), her son Bryce and his wife Pat, a grandson (Steve), and a great-granddaughter (Kennedy).
Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, August 23, 2008 at the Rose Park 4th Ward Chapel (1153 West 800 North) in Salt Lake City. Friends may call at Larkin Mortuary (260 East South Temple Street) on Friday, August 22 from 6-8 p.m., and at the Church on Saturday, August 23 before the services from 11:45 a.m. until 12:45 p.m.
Interment will be in the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
