Hugh Linn was the Son of John and Jane Van Scyock. Husband of Mary Ann Saylor Linn. At the age of 52, Hugh volunteered along with sons William and Riley to serve in the Union Army. Assigned to the Potomac Home Brigade, all three were captured at Harper's Ferry, yet all eventually returned home. He was the Father of 13 children:
