He was married twice. His first wife was Miss Ruann Gibson who died in 1854 leaving three small children. The youngest died just months after the mother. The other two grew to young womanhood. Mary C. married F. C. Large and passed away leaving four children. The second daughter married Joseph Large.
The second wife was Mrs. Lydia M. Lewis who died in 1885 leaving three children. Ada & May were also surviving daughters.
