She was born Aug. 6, 1923, in Carroll County to John and Bertha Lawson Lineberry.
She was the widow of Earnest Hanks.
Survivors include a daughter, Brenda Burnett of Woodlawn; a son, Nelson Hanks of Galax; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.
A funeral was held Sunday at Woodlawn Church of God with burial in the Pickett Cemetery. The Revs. John Briggs and John Canning officiated.
Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home is serving the family.
