He was born Feb. 17, 1921, in Maynard, Ark., the son of James M. and Mary E. Green Lindsey. He married Mary L. Kepple on Aug. 14, 1948, in Galesburg.
He is survived by his wife Mary; two sons, Danny C. and Martha Lindsey and Gerald L. and Kathie Lindsey, all of Abingdon; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Tim Lindsey; five brothers, James, Cleburn, Cletus, Otto, Cleo and Leo Lindsey; and one sister, Hasel Lindsey.
He worked for Outboard Marine Corp. in Galesburg for 32 years, retiring in August 1977. He was a member of the Abingdon Boat Club and enjoyed camping.
Funeral service will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday, April 7, at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel, with Eleanor Landon officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service. Burial will be at Abingdon Cemetery.
