Death: Jan. 30, 2010
Williamson County
Texas, USA

Anna Irene Lindquist went to her Lord's home January 30, 2010, at the age of 89. She was a lifelong resident of Williamson County and Georgetown, Texas. Irene was born on June 7, 1920 to Clause and Anna Chrestine Adolfson Lindquist. Irene's parents came to Texas from Smaland, Sweden at the turn of the last century. Irene's mother resided in the Engval household until her marriage to Clause in 1903.

Irene's parents and brothers, Howard, Weldon and Arnold preceded her in death. She is survived by her cousins, Warren and Charlene Anderson Sefcik, and their sons Warren Jr., Wallace, Willis, and their families, also Charles G. and Patti Anderson and their children, Amy Rogers, Mike, and Gregg Anderson and their families.

Graduating from Georgetown High School in 1937, Irene entered Southwestern University on a scholarship to study music for a year. The oldest baptized, confirmed member of the Georgetown Evangelical Free Church, the members enjoyed her music at the piano and organ for over 60 years. At the age of 12 she became the self taught church pianist. Her love for music led to her directing the church choir and musical events. A favorite to be enjoyed until the past year were the "Fifth Sunday Singings". An inspirational person in her musical life, Dr. Ellsworth Peterson will read the obituary.

Much joy was brought to her family from employment at Henderson's Department Store on the square in Georgetown, a one year study at Trinity Bible College in Chicago Illinois, followed by employment and retirement from Lone Star Gas in the 1980's.

The Swede love of coffee was evident in Irene's life. Coffee breaks with friends and conversation played an important role in her daily life. Her Swedish heritage was cherished and conversation in Swedish was a happy reminder of days gone by.

Many friends survive Irene. Her past and present church members, Pastor David, and special friends: Connie, Julie, Anita, Wanda, Barbara, Paul and Charlie.

Appreciation is given to the staff at the Wesleyan Nursing Home, Dr. Abhilasha Gupta, and St. David's Medical center for their kindness and caring for Irene.

Pallbearers are Richard Nord, Jessee Stence, Carvin Youngbloom, Bill Edminston, Charlie Johnson, and Charles G. Anderson of Austin.

Honorary pallbearers of Georgetown are Paul Martinka, Mike Salyer, James Davidson, Vernon Eklund, Ellsworth Peterson and Wiggie Shell.

Visitation will be held at the Ramsey Funeral Home from 5-7 P.M. on Monday, February 1, 2010.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, February 2 at the Evangelical Free Church of Georgetown. Burial will follow at the Evangelical Free Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers it is requested that memorials be given to the Evangelical Free Church of Georgetown, 1322 East University Avenue, Georgetown, TX, 78626.
